The comedian and portrayal of the father of dead son in Saaransh (1984) made Anupam Kher the popular actor of Indian film industry and give him the first Filmfare award. His Hollywood debut was Nehru (1987) and as producer in Bariwaliand as director in Om Jai Jagadish (2002). He got Padma Shri in 2004 and Padma Bhushan (2016). He acted in more than 500 films in different languages including English and Chinese. He also received Kalakar Award (2015). Kher was born on 7 th March, 1955 in Simla and studied in DAV School and graduated from Punjab industry and NSD. He has Anupam Kher foundation and also a cofounder of PFA.
